A statement regarding Neodynium prices
There have recently been a large number of price rises in the price of neodynium, the material used for the magnets in lightweight drivers. This is partially due to the demand for hybrid cars and wind turbines, which both use neodynium in their construction.
Because of this uncertainty, it is not currently possible for us to quote prices on our website for cabinets loaded with Neo drivers. However, we are committed to only passing on the genuine price increases, and NOT factoring in extra profit.
To reiterate: we will only increase the price of the Purple-Chili Light weight cabs by the actual increases we suffer.
Remember, the magnet is only one component in the manufacture of a driver, all the other parts will not suffer the same increases,
so the prices, in reality, may only go up by a little.
There is a certain element of scaremongering in the Neo price stories. Remember our other costs - such the ultra light weight ply we have made and the hardware we use -
are not under the same uncertainty (of course they may go up in line with inflation, but we can't see there being a sudden massive demand
for plywood in the manufacture of wind tubines).
So our cabs cost no more to produce, apart from the increase in the magnet costs, and that's why we will not be capitalising on this.
